Salzburg

Right across the border, Salzburg is not only a 2500 year old town, the hometown of Mozart, Stefan Zweig, Haydn and Herbert von Karajan, but also The Sound of Music. 3 centuries old cafés (even the oldest restaurant in Europe, funded in 803, no kidding !) serving incredible pastries, fountains, Italian-style piazzas, a magestic fortress...

Bavaria

Willkommen im Bayern !
  • Munich, which is not only an interesting holiday destination during the Oktoberfest or for Christmas markets, but a nice city all year round
  • the fabulous Neuschwanstein castle, built in the 19th century by the famed “mad” king Ludwig II. It was the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty castle. From there, you can also see the Hohenschwangau castle. A few kilometers away, the castle in which the king spent the last years of his life, Linderhof, surrounded by endless hiking opportunities in the Alps, small villages with incredible painted walls and wooden churches,

  • Nuremberg, so-called “City of Empires”, a beautiful medieval walled city, once the centre of the Holy Roman Empire. If you only come to Bavaria for one thing, it might be for trying the local sausages on the Market Square while enjoying the colourful view,

  • the horrors of World War II and the Third Reich, with the Nazi Party rally grounds and Congress Hall to the Memorial in Dachau, the “Academy of Terror”,

  • some of the famous Biergarten, where you can try the home-brewed beer,
