Better late than never, here are the pictures from my holidays in January. First time cross-country skiing in 20 years, I can hardly believe it...
The first day was spent under the rain, with the snow melting hour after hour, but I just couldn't wait one more day to ski again. At the end of the day: about 20 falls, all of them in cold swimming pools, but no regret :)
On the second day, the sun is out and shining, but the temperature has fallen. As a consequence, the melted snow from yesterday has turned into an ice sea. The pictures are nicer, but the falls a lot more hurtful... Got the biggest bruise ever!
On Wednesday, I tried to reach Valchevrière, one of the memory places linked to the Resistance in Vercors during World War II, but the ice prevents from going down the mountain until the abandoned village.
For the rest of the week, a bit of ski, with the little bit of snow that is still there, and walks in the pastures. Still struggling with ice, but also enjoying the local food :))
