The city has retained varied architectural styles from many of the main periods of the past millennium, including Capetian, Gothic, and Renaissance. Many still-inhabited town houses in the city's central district date from the 18th century and earlier. Dijon architecture is distinguished by, among other things, toits bourguignons (Burgundian polychrome roofs) made of tiles glazed in terracotta, green, yellow, and black and arranged in geometric patterns.

Burgundy
Bonjour,
Another short trip in France, back in Burgundy for the traditional autumn break.
As the weather is nice, there is nothing like a walk around the Pont Lake in order to start the day.
From there, time to wander from village to village, enjoying the countless churches and castles
At the end of the afternoon, we reached Chateauneuf, already visited 2 years ago, but it is always a pleasure to go back there.

Chambéry
Chambéry is the capital of the department and has been the historical capital of the Savoy region since the 13th century. It was founded at a crossroads of ancient routes through the Dauphiné, Burgundy, Switzerland, and Italy.
The first counts of Savoy settled into an existing fortress in 1285 and expanded it in the early-14th century to serve as a residence, seat of power and administration, and as stronghold for the House of Savoy.
