Bled

First evening in Bled, where I will stay until the end of the week. The main objective is to attend the Biathlon World Cup competition, which will take place in Pokljuka from Thursday to Sunday.

The national teams of Japan, Latvia and Kazakhstan are staying in the same hotel as me, it looks like I am going to live a biathlon life 24 hours a day until the end of the week.

Lots of clouds on Wednesday morning, but at least the rain has stopped, I can walk around the lake, and start seeing quite a few biathletes running around me.

Woken up by the sun on Thursday, it almost feels like summer. Not good for the snow, but definitely the perfect weather for another walk around the lake, even nicer today.

Ljubljana

Dober dan !

Welcome to Slovenia or, as they call it here sLOVEnia.
The first 2 nights are going to be spent in Ljubljana, in a former jail, located in the middle of the Metelkova City Autonomous Cultural Center, that includes  include an art gallery, bars, artists studios, space for designers.... The temperature is around 6°C, and the window of my room (or I should rather say my cell) is wide open when I get there at midnight. Just perfect for me :)

On Monday, the weather is a bit nicer than expected, I rush to the old center, a few minutes away from the hostel, in order to have a look at the river and its bridges, the Christmas markets, the churches and the castle hill.

When the rain is back, good opportunity to hang around the hostel and discover the Metelkova local artists. You like street art? Check this out:

At night, it is even nicer, with all of the Christmas lights on. People don't seem to be afraid of cold temperatures here, everyone is sitting outside in the restaurants and bars.

The Christmas tree of the town hall is beautiful, and ornated with strange decorations:
