From Denver to Moab

June 12th, D Day

Some would pretend that it was not so easy to leave everybody behind me (and it would definitely be true...), but this is not the reason why the 1st flight takes me to Frankfurt... Lufthansa was just the best option to fly to Denver.

Welcome to Denver, the One Mile High city, with its baseball stadium where the blue seats indicate the 'one mile above the sea' level, its 2 mile long pedestrian street, 16th Street Mall, its City Hall and the State Capitol (by the end of the trip, I will have to figure out how to distinguish the capitols of the different states, it does not look so easy...)

Half an hour away from the city, Red Rocks, and its amphitheater dug in the middle of those strange rocks, where the most famous singers and bands perform. It must be something, to see a concert by Buddy Guy or Bob Dylan in there...

In the direction of the West, the modern civilisation is fading quickly, and is replaced by a country full of far west and cowboys legends. The first stage will be Buffalo Bill's grave, then the fields full of buffalos, with their calves.

The landscape goes on changing, from the forest to something which looks more and more like a desert. The only evidence of human presence in the past is the ruins of the abandoned gold mines everywhere on the side of the road...

That will be it for Colorado, Utah will be next state...
