As long as you drive along the sea, each corner offers you incredible views, with endless shades of blue:
Cargese hosts a Greek church, with its traditional decoration:
Up to the north, you enter the Porto Gulf, with Piana on one side and Girolata on the other.
Here is Calvi. The inhabitants say that Christopher Columbus was born here (but it is not the first time that I heard this, it seems that every Western Mediterranean country has at least one town where he was born ;-).
How could you resist a swim in Ile-Rousse?
In Saint-Florent, I stop for one of the best ice creams I've ever had (with local flavours: brocciu, a local cheese; myrtle; chestnut). I will keep dreaming about it during a long time, for sure...
Today, the car is going to have a rest, and I will stretch my legs, on the path between Olmeta and Nonza.
I accidentally crushed with the palm of my hand one of those sneaky little caterpillars and, trust me, it was not a good idea, I had a few days to think about it.
Back on the road, heading first to Patrimonio and Bastia:
Today is a market day, with brocciu fritters cooked on the spot (yummy...)
And then let's drive all around the Corsican Cape, crossing lovely villages and more views on the sea:
By the way, here is my car (I let you guess which one it is), on the official parking on one of the villages.
After a long and painful day on the road, a cool beer is more than welcome
Right in the middle of the island, you will find Corte, one of the favorite places I've seen so far this year.
And here I am, back in Ajaccio, where I started the trip in Corsica
Time to take off and fly back to France, good bye Corsica, thanks for all those good moments!
And this is what Ajaccio looks like from a little higher (thanks Thomas Pesquet)
