First of all, happy birthday Lucas ! Sorry not to be here...
Who knows, may be in a few years you will start harassing me because you will also want to be a cowboy during your holidays. That would really be fun !






Here is Shadow, enjoying his breakfast and the sunrise, while I wait for him to finish (and I can tell you that it is freezing cold at the moment, at 7am !)

Looks like spring has reached Montana, at last, we had an amazing weather during the whole day (I even succeeded in getting my face sunburnt, with a hat on). But the meadows still look like a swamp, or a lake.

At the end of the day, time to have a proper dinner and relax a bit before a good night, in order to be ready for the cattle gathering, branding and ear tagging day planned for tomorrow.

Time to leave you, it is 8:20pm, I should already be in my bed...

Howdy !

The first 2 days of the week have been pretty busy, between the indoor and outdoor horsemanship practice, cow and horse feeding in the morning, the cattle drives (20 one year old cows to bring back from the pastures to the ranch), cutting in order to sort 4 of them out of the group because they are about to be sold, and roping. All of this (apart from roping) with my new buddy Wyatt. The rain showers did not prevent from having a lot of fun !

Howdy !

First of all, please let me introduce you to Buttermilk, my new friend :



We have changed the searching teams who went out to graze, it is still impossible to find those 3 damn cows and their calves. I stayed around the ranch with a few other guys, in order to get ready for the end of the season cattle gathering. This was our playground today :





At the end of the afternoon, it is time for the horses to have a bit of water and lots of oat, and for us to go to the indoor arena for a roping practice
