A few kilometers away from the road to Managua and Leon is located the Masaya volcano, and its 3 craters (one is still active, one has turned into a lake which protected the town of Masaya during the last eruption, and one is covered with vegetation)
Back on the main road, the local agriculture is very present, for instance fields of sorghum (but always with a volcano in the background, wherever you are in this country...).
And here we are in Leon. The town is part of the Unesco World Heritage, but it is far from having the same charm as Granada. Mounir has found the right world to describe this : Granada had a soul, Leon does not have any, it is a bit disappointing. But however there are obviously some very nice buildings, mainly hotels and churches.
