The last time I came to this terminal to board a flight for holidays, I took Martin Fourcade with me.
Today, I was very close to taking Jason Lamy-Chappuis, but I eventually decided to let him in my living room, let's be patient...
The decoration hasn't changed but, this time, it seems that the Emirates flight won't be late, and therefore might not cause the kind of issues which ruined the beginning of my holidays almost 4 years ago.
My travel companion will be Ken Follett, as I have decided to reread "World without end". The first page caused 2 surprises:
- from the paper I found in the book, it seems that the first time I read that book was during the preparation of the previous sabbatical holidays (and it is amazing to see the difference between what I had in mind and what 2009 actually looked like...)
- the story starts on Halloween's Eve and today is... October 31st. Interesting, isn't it?

Sorano, Pitigliano and Montemerano
Here comes the last day of visits in Tuscany, with a few more nice surprises around the corner, such as the village of Sorano:
In this part of the country, most of the villages were built on cliffs, and it is the case of Pitigliano.
Not sure what I will miss the most when I am back in Paris: the Italian food, or the possibility to have any meal outside, enjoying the sun...
Tonight, I will stay in Montemerano, with first drops of rain in 2 weeks.
And now it is time to fly back to Paris, but the views are still worth the trips, specially around Zurich, where I will be back in a few weeks.

Pienza and Montepulciano
Before the village was renamed to Pienza its name was Corsignano.
In 1405, it was the birthplace of the man who will become Pope Pius II.
Once he became Pope, Piccolomini had the entire village rebuilt as an ideal Renaissance town and renamed it after himself to Pienza.
Intended as a retreat from Rome, it represents the first application of humanist urban planning concepts, creating a method for planning that was adopted in other Italian towns and cities and eventually spread to other European centers.
And here is Montepulciano:

On my way to Montpulciano, I stopped on the side of the road at Cugusi dairy farm, where you can buy the cheese produced locally and eat it in their pic-nic area, with an incredible view.
And here is Montepulciano:
