Ruhpolding

Here are some of the views on my daily trip between Traunstein and Ruhpolding:

Just a word about biathlon, as this is the reason why I am here: 4 more podiums for the French team, congratulations to Martin Fourcade, Quentin Fillon Maillet, Simon Desthieux and Antonin Guigonnat!

Traunstein

Ready for one more border crossing! Than let's take the train for a 30 minute trip, and go back to Germany, still in Bavaria, in Traunstein, where I will stay during the week, in order to go to the biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding, just a few kilometers from there.

Have you noticed this incredibly blue sky? I had almost forgotten what it was like to see the sun during the last weeks :)

Salzburg

From Italy, I drove back to Munich, to return the rental car at the airport, going through Austria, and then facing the same problem as in December 2015: the border between Austria and Germany is closed, the border officers scan every car, therefore slowing down the traffic a lot. But it is not that bad today, I will only lose about 10 minutes (the last time, it was more than 2 hours, I had almost missed my flight).

And from there, I take a long distance bus to Salzburg, therefore coming back to Austria, for the 3 time in 3 days (I had told you to stay focused, it is not easy to follow...).

And here I am, in Salzburg, which is the hometown of...

If you have answered "The sound of music", you are perfectly right, but this is not the answer I was looking for.

If you have answered "Mourad's favorite treats", you are also correct, and you cannot miss them when you wander in the streets, they are there, at every corner:

You are getting closer, but it was still not the answer I expected. Come on, you can it, I will give a few hints:

OK, now you have it?
So I can show more pictures of the city:

And for those who had a doubt, yes, Salzburg is in Bavaria:
