Anchorage

Hi folks,

Never seen so many people standing in a line at the check in counter in Charles de Gaulle: 1h30 to get the boarding pass, then a few more hundreds waiting for the immigration controls. Thank God, all of them are foreigners and there are only 4 people in front of me for EU passports.

In O'Hare, things are a lot better organized, as usual. Within 45 minutes, I get thru immigration, retrieve my bag, check it in again, get the shuttle to Terminal 5, go thru security, and can eventually grab a frapuccino.

Everything is there to make me aware of the fact that I am back in the US:
- the accents around me while standing in the line in CDG
- the cranberry apply juice in the plane
- a good glimpse at my beloved Rockies and their glaciers before landing in Anchorage

The airport is surrounded by trees, it gives the feeling that we have landed right in the middle of a forest.

The heat is incredible, I hope that the temperature will decrease during the night. Oh my gosh, there is no night...

On the following day, I wake up at 04:15, thanks to the jet lag and to the fact that there is as much light as in Paris in the middle of the afternoon. Direction the Native Heritage Center
, in order to learn a bit about the differents Alaskan tribes (Athasbacan, Yup'ik, Alutiiq, Unangax and Tungit).

And, then I don't any chance to see the Northern lights in June, I go to see a one hour movie about them. Absolutely breathtaking.
