Denali

Leaving Anchorage at 07:00, the fire is still burning but this time we make it, driving thru a thick smoke during 15 minutes. The firemen are sleeping on the side of the road, they have probably fought the flames during the whole night.

First views of Mount Denali, "the Great One", the sky is incredibly clear.

The Salmon Bake cabin that has been waiting for me since yesterday is great: quiet, fresh air, and you smell the forest while sitting on the deck.

First walk to the Visitor Center to stretch my legs, and then to the Horseshoe Lake and its beaver dam.
