From Nelson to Fox Glacier

Today, it's raining buckets, again... Nevertheless, I make a short stop to see the so-called pancake rocks. And then here I am in Greymouth, a town built during the gold rush.

Who wants me to bring back local gastronomic specialties???

The backpacker is called Noah's Ark. Originally an old monastery, when Greymouth was flooded the town’s inhabitants used the monastery as a refuge and that’s how it got its name.
So each room is dedicated to a different animal. I got the Monkey one.

A lot more rain on the road, but when I reach Franz Joseph Glacier, it has almost stopped, good timing :)))
In Fox Glacier, more rain, but I will be rewarded by a nice lunch at the end of the walk:
