Wales (3)

I spent a very nice evening, chatting with the volunteers which take care of the hostel and with some of the other guests, coming from US, Switzerland, Germany and UK.
After giving a lift to my Swiss roommmate to her new hostel, so that she does not have to walk 15 km under the rain (yes, it is back), I stop in Saint Dogmael, for what is supposed to be a very short break in order to have a look at the ruins of the abbey and at the church.
But, as I enter the church, I am welcome by a bunch of elderly ladies, who are having a tea while waiting for the service to start.
My arrival creates a lot of excitement, and here I am, with a cup of tea in my hand, talking about what I have visited so far during this trip, where I intend to go, and how some of them enjoyed Paris.
And all of this while the rest of the group talks in Welsh.

Time for me to go on and for them to attend the Sunday service, but it has been a very nice moment.
Short break in Cardigan, in order to wait until the rain stops. Perfect timing for a cheesecake!

From there, I input Cenarth in my GPS, as it is supposed to be the next stop. And after driving about 20 minutes of extremely narrow roads (as almost all the roads here), here is where the %#%#%#% GPS takes me. No, the road is not temporarily blocked because of the rain, it is a 2 foot deep river, with no road on the other side.

And, of course, the nasty little monster keeps on telling me to make a U turn and go back to the river while I try to move away. I absolutely love technology!
Forget about the GPS, I will find Cenarth on my own...

The village is famous for its small local boats, built with leather, which are used for fishing salmons and trouts.

As today is Sunday, the pub where I have lunch is serving the traditional Sunday roast.
